'Archi Summit 2018' returns to Lisbon to discuss housing and urban planning

The 'Archi Summit 2018' event, which takes place on July 12 and 13 at the LX Factory, brings together great names in national and international architecture in Lisbon, on a stage that will transform LX Factory's Sala XL into a space inspired by an exhibition by Rem Koolhaas, symbiosis between the crude and the near-empty. "

Carrilho da Graça, Junya Ishigami, Gonçalo Byrne, Annette Gigon, Paulo Martins Barata, Marie Jose Van Hee and Tiago Mota Saraiva are some of the names officially announced on the poster of this 4th edition, which will focus on "Public Space Planning" ( 12 July) and "The new challenges of housing" (13 July).

What are the solutions to the scarcity of housing spaces in large cities? Tourism will end housing in urban centers? In what way can living in public spaces be enhanced? What is born first: housing or public space? These are some of the issues that will be on the table at Archi Summit 2018 conferences.

Bruno Moreira, responsible for the organization of the Archi Summit 2018 highlights in this edition, "first of all, the excellence of the speakers" and "the multicultural character of the program of this edition" that will debate current topics and public interest in the light of perspective and the experience of national and international architects, who will showcase some of their projects developed in these contexts.
This year, the national ceramics will be a highlight, in a layout that will have a central auditorium surrounded by the exhibition area aimed at networking, totally oriented to the construction segment and project development. Highlights will be the exhibition spaces for the brands LOVE Tiles and Margres, as well as the exhibition spaces where other brands such as Barbot, Secil, Amorim Isolamentos, Gyptec and Sonae Arauco will be present.

It is worth remembering that during the three previous editions, the Archi Summit gathered more than 2,000 architects, and the organization is predicting in this edition an increase of about 30% compared to the 2017 edition.
Program
On the first day of the event, dedicated to the public space, Gonçalo Byrne, João Luís Carrilho da Graça, Pedro Dinis and Paula Melâneo participate in a conference at 10.30, which will give the motto to the presentation of projects by the Belgian architect Marie Jose Van Hee, of the Catalan duo of the studio Ted'A Jaume Mayol and Irene Pérez Pirrefer, recently awarded this year's edition of the Iberian awards for architecture FAD Awards, and the Chilean studio Pezo, in the afternoon between 14h30 and 19h30.
The second day will be dedicated to the challenges of housing and will include the participation of Portuguese architects Paulo Martins Barata, Tiago Mota Saraiva, Paulo Marques Correia and Catarina Almada, at a conference at 10:30 am, and later with the presentation of projects by the Japanese architect Junya Ishigami, the Swiss architect Annette Gigon and the French studio Bruther between 14h30 and 19h30.
